A Different Shade of Grey

Dovetail to be exact.   The dining room has gone from outdated pink walls to a cool trendy grey.

It had pink wallpaper on 3 walls and pink paint on another.  It has carpet (still) but hardwoods underneath that match the adjacent entry floors.  Nothing cool about this – except the window & the size.  The window is the perfect height and vantage point for a dog to survey his terrain.  First Buddy & now Mac bark at all passing people, dogs, children, trucks, dogs from this window.

In Progress: Wallpaper removal & painting

You can see that we tried quite a few different colors on the only un-wallpapered wall before landing on Sherwin Williams – Dovetail for the walls (trim – Snowbound).   We did get a new table & chair set a couple weeks after we moved in since our old dining room table was a better size for the eat-in kitchen area.  This room was painted at the same time as the family room by Greenwave Solutions.  Here it comes….

(Sorry about the white balance on this one.)  There was still something not quite right in here (other than carpet – seriously why is there carpet in the dining room?)  We found an AWESOME chandelier at from Pottery Barn & got in on partial sale (apparently because they have now discontinued it).  We also had it professionally installed by our electrician due to our “deal” in May.  The filament blubs look really cool at different dimmer settings and it really takes the room up a notch.

See that AWESOME chandelier?  We also found those PB lanterns at a random trip to a junk antique store for about 75% off the catalog price.  The band posters are from a few of our favorites.  My mom helped me make the table runner.  This shot shows how much Mac likes his spot too.
